Welcome to Sherrie’s Corner: Website Edition
Hello and welcome!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love sharing the highs and lows of my basketball journey visually—through short-form videos and photo carousels. These are usually paired with long captions I’ve titled “Sherrie’s Corner”, where I dive deep into my thoughts and feelings on topics relevant to my life. It’s become a space for reflection and a sincere way to connect with my community.
When I first set out to share so vulnerably, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t, at first, purely for selfish reasons. It started as a kind of digital journal—one I still scroll through and reread regularly. Every post I share is carefully crafted and, most of the time, it’s written for my younger self. I often think retrospectively:
“What would I have wanted to hear back then?”
Sometimes, those words even serve as foresight. I’m often surprised by how something I wrote three years ago is still relevant to me now!
Over the years, I’ve been deeply humbled by people who have shared their gratitude and the positive impact my words have had. The fact that it resonates with others is a beautiful bonus—and now, it’s one of the reasons I enjoy writing so much.
It’s grown, as most things do, into something far greater than just basketball.
Sport has been a powerful catalyst for self-development —
mirroring the different paths we take in life itself. Whether you’re following a path that's already there, working through or around obstacles, or navigating a treacherous one single-handedly, every journey can be daunting.
I’ve found that being able to craft my learnings into digestible media has helped me tremendously — and my hope is that it will continue to do the same for others too.
“Sherrie’s Corner” began as a space for reflection, and has evolved into a platform where I share the real, raw, and rising parts of the journey — always with the hope that it reminds someone else they’re not alone.
I’m so excited to expand my creative endeavours all into one place, making it easier for you (and me!) to explore, connect, and grow. With all that in mind, I wanted to give you a little sneak peek into what’s waiting for you here.
